I am a bilingual (English and Spanish) Licensed Clinical Social Worker, who enjoys working with children, teenagers, and adults. I obtained my BA in Psychology from Hamilton College in Clinton, NY in 2008. After graduating, I returned to Arizona and began working for a homeless shelter, where I provided psycho-education groups to children and teens and case management services to their parents. In 2009, I began ASU's Master of Social Work program. While in the MSW program, I interned at the Arizona State Hospital, where I collaborated with psychiatrists, nurses, and counselors to help patients suffering from serious mental illnesses. After obtaining my MSW in 2012, I began working in a residential shelter setting with unaccompanied minors from various countries, who suffered from issues such as trauma, anxiety, and depression. I highly enjoy working with diverse populations, including immigrants and first-generation Latinos/Hispanics. I use a person-centered approach as well as cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy. I am also Certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, which I use to help clients heal from trauma. I look forward to helping you discover your strengths and teach you additional skills that will help you gain acceptance, hope, and wellness.
